It's not everyday you get to see beer bottles from the Prohibition Era. One of the many cool things about shipwrecks on the Great Lakes is that they are protected from those that would salvage shipwreck "tokens" thus preventing future generations of divers from seeing such items.

These are on the "Roatarian" which is a shallower wreck in 85' of water about nine miles off shore.

A little backstory:
"The Rotarian was built in 1889 in Sandusky, Ohio. It was approximately 147 feet long with a beam of 27 feet. The vessel spent many years as a passenger excursion ship.

When it moved to Chicago in the 1920’s, this aging vessel was used successively as a dance hall, the home of the Cook County Democrats, and as a restaurant that offered illegal bootleg alcohol during Prohibition. Even Al Capone entertained on this ship.

Worth waiting for the bottle... Eerie...

Thanks Paul. I suppose there was a build up with the picture after the backstory.

A wet flat backed Centipede - Craspedosoma rawlinsii...

As far as I can tell - the damp rainy weather meant everywhere reflected water - and even though this flat backed centipede appeared dry to my eye, maybe it wasn't judging by the amount of flash coming back at the camera.

A shield bug - or stink bug, this one was quite mobile running along the damp wood on the ground, but eventually ambled onto a leaf for the coup de grace photo, head on...

This cranefly (Tipula confusa I think) was flat against a brick wall, and this was rotated 90 degrees to get the best composition and crop. I barely noticed the globule of water on its antenna, nor the bundle of something over its mouth - a bit of spider's silk I think... Surprising what a macro lens shows us...

So many beautiful images flying by, and all I have to contribute is a few monarchs. 'Tis the season around here.
