Ugh! Just received a used but (was) excellent condition 4K monitor (UP2414Q) only to discover it had been scratched due to poor packing. The monitor base was directly in contact with the screen. I'll attach a photo. Short of complaining, is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Was it damaged due to the seller's shipping method? Then I would say that it was damaged in shipping (due to their choices) and not what you ordered. Send it back for refund?

Just erase the scratches.

Seriously, I never tried it and hope I never have to, but when I googled it, that is what came up first. How to Fix a Scratched LED Monitor. (external link)

^ Hehe, I actually watched that earlier this morning.

My scratches seem much deeper than the ones I've seen on YouTube vids. Mayne I will give it a whirl anyhow. I just have little confidence it will work as they can be felt easily with the finger.

But many thanks for the heads-up!

Can you even see the scratches when the monitor is on? If you can't I wouldn't even worry about it. I don't see anything on my monitor until it's off.

If it was misrepresented however, I would return it.

Just tried this on one of my screen that got dropped and scratched, it has actually cleared the shallow scratches, and the deeper ones are far less noticeable now. Was surprised how lightly the amount of pressure needed was for the eraser to lighten up the marks.

One caveat. I do see some smudges around the scratches that are going to drive me crazy too LOL, going to try lens solution to get those off.

As this is a result of poor packaging and shipping, I would return it.

^ Any particular make of eraser? I'm assuming any standard one will do...

And keep me updated on how well those smudges come off. Those might be more annoying than the actual scratches!

Got the smudges off with a solution of Rubbing alcohol and water.

The scratches can still be seen, but are much less noticeable and shorter, the finer/shallower ends have gone completely.
