edmidlifecrisis Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 8 years ago by edmidlifecrisis. (2 edits in all) | Sep 25, 2015 07:40 | #559 I am becoming more and more enamored of my A6000. I was in a dark pub last night shooting (purely for fun and for the band) some friends of mine with a band (Led Zeppelin tribute)> I brought 3 cameras, my T3i with 50 1.8 and kit lens, my trusty G15 which usually can handle dark clubs pretty well, and my A6000 with kit lens. The A6000 was the only one that produced reasonable images as it needed ISO 4000 and above. Only one or two photos from the other cameras were usable, they were either blurry or too noisy. Also the autofocus and the live view when holding the camera above the crowd was superior. The autofocus on all three was a challenge as it wanted to focus on the faces in the paintings in the background!! I know I am comparing apples to oranges but that little A6000 is full of surprises. And now I am finally studying the menus and customizing the buttons as discussed in the Gary Fong videos to make it more usable and flexible. Great little camera! I am also becoming more and more used to the electronic viewfinder and find myself missing it in the other cameras. Now I need more native lenses. Both of these images and the two in the last post were taken with the little 16-50 kit lens that came with the camera. I just bought the body and have no native lenses at this time. I think I will pick up a FE 28 F2 for a walk around. I currently have a few legacy lenses and some left over Canon. (2 edits in all) | Sep 27, 2015 14:24 | #563 I have been looking into it and agree, it would be a good choice. There are several others for the 6000 I would like to have although they are pretty expensive. Low light capability is first, so that 35 looks like a winner. I have several f2 and f1.8 50mm lenses for film cameras but they are all manual focus. I also have a couple of film lenses in 28mm and 35mm that are f2.8 or f2 but I want one that takes advantage of the A6000 autofocus system that works so well, I really like it. And I could use the OSS too! Ed
