Well, if it's any consolation, when I go on casual shoots, the 24-70 is on my camera 90% of the time. I would typically bring one additional prime, which FL would depend on where I'll be going. :D

Generally, it's just me and my 85. I've tried to use other lenses on shoots, but, in the end, I always go back to the 85. I can't imagine shooting without it. The weight doesn't bother me anymore, either, since I've been using this combo for so long.

Here's another with the same combo.

Having bought one on September 11 while at B&H, I can offer a first post to this thread.

BTW...anyone upgrade to the latest version (v.2.0.8) of the firmware? Have you noticed any changes, in the recent past, versus 2.0.7? I'm just curious...

Another vote for the 24-70 F2.8 L V2.
It's just a cracking lens! I bought mine to replace a 24-105 L and, I won't say that it has improved my photography, but it does make my images look awfully nice even if the subject/composition is rubbish!

Sounds like a plan to me. I found one locally, in Orlando, and since we're taking my son to Disney for his (early) birthday-present, I'll make some good use of it, hopefully, tomorrow. Cheers! :)

I've own this camera for about a month now and I absolutely love it. Its everything I had hoped it would be and more. It has even put new life back into my Sigma 120-300 OS f/2.8

Hobbyist my butt, Manish... Hehehe... Hope you're doing well and thx for the 1Dx welcome... Purchased from fellow 1Dx user, Julian (jwcdds)... THX JULIAN!!! So far it's working out well... I've shot several sporting events, a few e-sessions, and several landscape scenes... It even did well on a soaked-drenched ride at Disneyland (Splash Mountain)!!! Hehehe... Next step will be LA Fashion Week, which starts next week... I'm sure it can handle the fashion scene, but still, the first time using it will be nerve-racking... I'll be posting up samples from the runway presentations on here... Stay tuned!!!

:D

Butch has shot more meaningful/exciting photos in one month with the 1DX than I ever did in 2 years. :p

I have an X.

(I know... it's confusing and the math doesn't quite work out right.) ;)

It's a very long story.

Some silliness that I shot this morning.

And of course I had to see how it looks like at wide open aperture.
