Yesterday while shooting a high school senior, a bird landed right on the shoulder of my lighting assistant (the student's mother). After about the first 5 minutes we went on taking portraits and the bird just stayed there, looking around. Hung out with us for more than 15 minutes then finally flew away.

We camped in this nice grouping of trees last weekend deep in the Frank Church wilderness on Big creek, a large tributary to the middle fork salmon. Initially we thought "Wow, that'll make a nice spot for the weekend". However when we walked over there there was fresh bear poop from no longer than a few hours prior! Fortunately we had no nocturnal visitors either night. :-)
