Thanks, Stro! Good to see a familiar face around here lately. Everyone else must still be on vacation in the Bahamas or Cuba or some such place. Hope you didn't have to get personally involved in that brutal looking arm wrestling contest.

A couple more participants in the car show and Deusenberg Drags from Labor Day weekend...

Yeah, not sure what happened to everyone. I think the new format chased some off.

Been a minute, good to see a lot have stuck around. Here are a few of my favs from late. Been looking at going full frame soon, possibly the 6D. Does anyone have any feedback on going from the 60D to the 6D?

This is a very special photo for me. My first 'artistic' photo. Shot in 1966 during a high school trip to Halkis, Greece. The camera was an Agfa Pinhole Camera that belonged to my grandmother.

Yes it is flipped. I've posted it a few places and nobody has asked yet. I did it just to see if anyone would catch it.

I did not notice it at the size on the forum, but opened it up in flickr and noticed right away. It is amazing to me that the colors seem more vibrant in the reflection.

Wow, these threads are still going? :-D

Hope everyone is doing well and still enjoying photography. I kind of fell out of existence the last year, as I've been working on writing new landscape photography books non-stop. I'll make sure to post on here more often once I get them all done. :)

I've actually contemplated getting a used 60D again. I liked the added image quality I got from going to full frame for a while, but the lack of tilting screens, the expensiveness of the gear, and the weight have been detrimental to my landscape photography. The 60D was the best camera I have used yet for landscapes in terms of usability. Much better than the 5D2, 6D, or D800.

I've been using a Rebel t1i the last year or so, and really like how cheap it is to replace if I get a little too crazy with playing chicken in front of huge ocean waves. Depending on prices in the used market, I may get a Rebel t3i for the added swivel screen. The 60D was nice for better battery life and dual control dials, but it did weight more. Hmmm...

How well have the 60D cameras been holding up in terms of reliability over the last few years? Besides grips peeling off, anything major?

Mine is as good as new. It is still my lightweight travel rig, together with the EF-S 18-200 and the Sigma 8-16. I like the peace of mind of checking in rather 'inexpensive' hotels and not having to worry about the loss if the 60D and Co. 'walk' away...

I 'll grant you though, I miss the 5DIII and the EF 24-70 at times...
