Mar 23, 2015 20:33 | #19 Does anyone know where I might be able to find the newer paint color that matches the 70-200 2.8 IS II? From what I've read its a lighter shade of white and all the auctions on eBay don't list that lens as being a match for what they sell. -Ryan

From what I've read its a lighter shade of white and all the auctions on eBay don't list that lens as being a match for what they sell. I've been searching for it too. I had the older white touchup paint and it worked great on older lenses, 70-200 2.8, 100-400, 300 f2.8 IS etc...but the new lenses white is a bit whiter and don't match very well.

I've been considering buying a vial of the older stuff and mixing in some brighter white until it matches. I'd prefer to just buy an exact match though. :/ -Ryan

Just take your collar off of the lens and bring it to a Home Depot and they can color match it. I bought a small pint and it looks like factory paint. Name: Theron

Great idea… what finish did you get? I'm thinking a semi-gloss? Chris
