+1 Stunning shot.

Countermeasures (flares) are meant to disperse at a good distance from the aircraft, at any angle. Great feature when trying to get a heat-seeking missile off your tail. They rarely demo them stateside...mainly because of fire hazards. It's a beautiful thing to see, and that photo surely captures the event extraordinarily well!

Done from quite a distance from the air show in Grand Junction this weekend. I should have brought my tripod or something to get them sharper.
