I have both the sigma 35 and 50 and can only say great things about them, so I would love a wide zoom to replace my 16-35/2.8 as well. (Plus a 70-200 sport to match Canon's MK2 hehehe)

I presume you were referring to an ultra wide? They've already produced a super fast wide angle zoom in the 24-35

And yeah, upgrades to the 12-24, 24-70 and 70-200 would be fantastic to see happen, even if they chose slightly different focal ranges and pulled off some more interesting firsts.

Rumor has it Sigma next lens will be a 85 F1.0 ART lens and will retail for 1199.

This will prove everyone wrong.

I have been waiting for sigma to release a 85mm ART. I got impatient and bought a 85mm f/1.8. If sigma or when sigma releases a 85mm art I will buying it. That's my hope as far as their next lens they make.

Everyone wants the 85A really bad but I don't see anything wrong with the current 85 that Sigma offers!

The canon 85 1.2 is known to be sharp-ish, but more than that it has a special oomph, that creamy softness it's famous for. Sigma can't compete on that, but they can make it sharp, and for that, the 1.4 is the way to go.

Had both side by side for more than a yr. Very very hard to tell them apart. The creamy bokeh is that $1600 you spent. In the end I did sell the sigma and kept the L. Bad bad move.

A question for those that ask for lenses that Sigma already makes, EG 85mm f/1.4, 70-200mm f/2.8 OS etc..

What exactly is expected to happen when these same optics become "ART" as opposed to "EX"?

Are you aware that in the case of the 120-300mm "Sport" vs. it's predecessor nothing changed optically? Does this fact alter the desire to see a new ART version of an existing EX lens?

Just curious.

Do all the art line hqve the usb docking abilty to adjust firmware and focus calibration? Putting an emd to the phrase sigma lottery would give me more confidence in dropping the cash for their higher end lenses, especially the fast primes. The current seems like a fine lens, but never quite enough to convince me to give up my 85 1.8 or drop my lust for the 85L.

All Sigma Contemporary, Sport, and Art lenses are compatible with the dock.
