Through my research, the only adaptor that can get you near canon like AF for the 135 is the metabones mark IV.

Not on the a7ii. No point paying the metabones premium unless you have a a7rii

Fantastic photos. One question:

I plan on getting the A7Rii and since my only canon lens that will stay will be the 70-300L, can you please tell me how good AF is working on it?

Because of the rainy weather, I really haven't been able to shoot with the 24-70 much. On my Flickr page, I only have five images from that lens beginning with the interior shot. (The pink house is an old edit shot on my 5D3). If you view the shots of the March Field Museum, all those were shot with the 17-40 mounted on my a7r.

My first impressions are the native 24-70 lens seems to focus very fast. I'm impressed with the sharpness but there is some softness at the edges and some barrel distortion too at 24mm. Basically, I bought the 24-70 lens for the convenience of it, when I want to travel light and for video because of its image stabilization (oss) as well as continuous focusing. So far, I'm very pleased with it.

I use the Metabones smart adapter III and although auto focus is slow, it seems very accurate and is how I used the 17-40 lens at the air museum.

BTW, do you live near Cardiff? My ancestors used to own St. Fagans. :)

It seems its a distict of Cardiff did they own all of it, if so can u lend me a few"Bob";-)a went to wrong end thread sorry:rolleyes:

Thank you. Re: AF with 70-300L: Don't expect to track a flying bird or a moving car, but AF performance is very good when there is adequate light. Over the summer, I tried tracking boogie boarder using continuous AF and wide focus area setting. As I tracked, I saw the green boxes following the subject but the focus on resulting shots were slightly lagging. For stationary objects or objects in motion that are not coming towards the camera, AF performance is reliable. Given that the longest focal length in native FE mount is 200mm and A-mount requires the use of an adapter anyway, 70-300L is a keeper both in terms of practicality and performance.

By the way, I am using Metabones IV adapter.

Don't let go of TS-E24L either. A7 series body and TS lenses are match made in heaven.

After Elizabeth Lewis married the 3rd Earl of Plymouth, the estate remained in that family until it and 18 acres of land was donated as a site for a national museum in 1946.

"The house and estate were purchased in 1616 by Edward Lewis of Y Fan, Caerphilly, and it was Edward and his wife Blanche who completed many of the internal fittings of the building in 1620. Their initials EBL and the date 1620 can be seen on panelling and on firebacks within the building. The Lewis heiress Elizabeth married Other, 3rd Earl of Plymouth in 1730, and the estate was inherited by their infant son in 1736."

I dont do BiF or similiar things which need tracking. Mainly static subjects so this is good news!

About the TSE24: i dont like it on my A7R and for the size, weight and price i think it should be better. Sharpness central is good but towards the edges it gets somehow a bit smeary. Maybe it would be better on the A7Rii but im not sure. I feel the Cv15 is equally sharp tbh...
