It is essentially a most basic portrait, almost like a pass photo, but still there is something interesting in her expression, and the way the photo is processed adds to the mood. I like it!

Yes very basic. Clamshell and straight on. For some reason I like to shoot like this. This shot was taken after doing head shots for 40 other dancers and when she came through I just asked her to come back because I wanted to try another photo of her. Her hair and her eyes really drew me in. She'll was up at 6am along with the rest of the team to have photos done that day but we have an individual session planned with her so perhaps we'll try something with hair and make up as well.
