Like the photo but think that it would be better if your model was a completely dark silhouette.

Just got back from a week long trip to California...our second stop was Mono Lake...not the epic light I had hoped for...but I came away with a couple frames I liked...the nearly full moon over the Tufa appealed to me...got down low with the 17-40L and the 5DII. I really have grown to love and hate this camera...I love the images, but hate the LCD on the back, it is so incredibly far off...

The second night in Yosemite we hiked up to Artist's Point to avoid the crowds at Tunnel View...we sat there for 45 minutes waiting and hoping for good light...but we did it in the comfort and quiet of our group of 3...we felt like we had the park to ourselves.

...and that's exactly how an experience like this should go. Great shot Travis.
I really have to make a trip to Yosemite one day - soon.

I agree 100%. We enjoyed the view in the peace and quiet.

Make the trip it's worth it.

I plan to Travis - my only concern is that I enjoy it in the manner you just described, and not simply be part of the horde moving through.

Half Dome reflected on the Merced River. One of my favorite images from my trip.

Nice shot, but posting it in 4 threads is overkill

It came up a year or so ago. The mods suggested that a couple of threads per image was sufficient.

From our second night in Yosemite...we had bad light most of the day, it was fairly overcast, and we figured the sunset would be a total bust...little did we know...when the sun got below the clouds, the only thing to catch the last fading light would be Half Dome...from the time it started to show until it was over...2 minutes 30 seconds...I got one exposure of the peak of it...we were so glad we didn't give up on it.
