this is a slow sub forum especially at the end of the week, and, you didn't really ask for criticism. Some folks are hesitant to say anything unless asked.

that said, decent set.

i like the close up of the dude with the fro. I will let that be a little lead in to a rant about lighting. Had he been back lit by a gelled light it would hav been really nice. Without decent stage lighting it is really hard to get a killer shot. I'm not one that wants just "white" light, but all the cross light, gelled shots are just not what i want to see. Obviously you have no control over this.

you did a good job with what you had to work with. Some nice tight shots of fingers on fretboards and pickin' are always nice.

as far as criticism, asking or not asking is generally not anything ive ever had to worry about. theres been LOTS of criticism, some so much as to ask me why i even had a camera in my hand after all of 30 seconds reading my post...

I have to agree. You did a good job for the lighting that you had to work with. I have been to Clarksdale many times and its a huge challenge. Have you tried to shoot a Red's? Seriously, its a music photographer's nightmare. The only light in there is red. lol

true.

your middle shot is 1/60 and probably shows some motion blur, but otherwise what i like.

i like to get both hands in the shot, there are a few in this set that show what i'm talking about. It is also a great example of the kind of lighting i'm talking about. #5 (and a couple of others) has the whole instrument and both hands

looking at the exif, i think i was TRYING to get some motion but apparently there wasnt enough to look deliberate vs. accidental motion blur....

Yep. It's the worse place ever to take photos, but it has the best music! I never miss it on my trips to Clarksdale. :)

I've always found Noiseware (PS plugin) to be slightly better than LR noise reduction.
