I was at my son's highschool football game taking pictures last week - glanced up and saw this USCG C-130H on its final into the former McClellan AFB. I took the picture more for the sky than the C-130 - autumn sunset looks nearly red/white/blue.

Have you considered a more interesting crop?

I think I'd crop about 20% off the left side to give it some room to move into.

Yes - but the image seemed sufficiently grainy that i didn't want to make it worse . . .

I do appreciate the feedback though. I fired off a few shots of it - I'll see if I can improve on it. Thanks!

As to the grain, remember that you don't have to sharpen all of a image: A few words on SHARPENING:

Yes - thank you. But having used Aperture for some time, which is no longer integrated into Apple's new "Photos" application - and having tried Photoshop on the free trial offer - I'm stuck in limbo with no "real" editor and am relying on the relatively modest tools in Photos (Not that I was adept at Aperture or Photoshop).

Yes, better. I like #2 best because the brighter area behind the C-130 helps to pull the eye there.
Here's the free version of Adobe CS2 (external link) which includes Bridge.

The "free" version doesn't work with the newer version of Mac OS X (later versions of Yosemite). It apparently only works on OS X 10.4 - 10.6 (Power PC machines). I have 10.10.xx . . .
