the rii is definitely in a different league to the other a7x I've used, such a monster of a camera, great at high iso, low iso, and a healthy 42mp.

Ahh im so sold to this camera. Still selling things to afford it but things like my fuji x100s, tse 24ii and A7R are so hard to sell where i live. Im not really making progress towards an A7Rii at the moment. I could just get it but heck, when i dont sell it now i will someday just sit on the streets because no money together with my A7S, A7R, A7Rii, A7Riii, A7Riv .... :p

plenty of gear. I used the cv 12, fe 24-70, fe 55, nikon 105, and om 200 for my aussie trip. Worked out great. I think it's the first time ever having a 200mm on vacation, and I loved it. I used the 105 for some portraits, otherwise could have left it at home.

Tablet however..... I dont do. Have a small 13" laptop, much more powerful than a tablet I think. i5, 256ssd, 8gb ram, ~3lbs.

run full lightroom and photoshop.

Surface pro 3, with pocket hard drive it functions pretty well as a computer. Editing is a little slow, but the weight is negligible.

I use a Surface Pro 3 on trips as well. Agreed that PS is a little slow but colors viewed on it are true to what I see on my desktop setup at home. I also have a 1TB portable HD to transfer my photos to from the camera while away.

Honest opinions please, been thinking about a Lim's half case, in particular the black with red stitching - http://alikgriffin.com …se-review-sony-a7rii-a7ii (external link)

Do you think it looks good or is it a bit OTT?

I like the black leather, but the red stitching is kind of distracting in my opinion.

my buddy has the gariz, and it does feel good

however, an L bracket can add the slightly finer grip and more functional. I have the Andoer LB-A7M2 Black Aluminum L bracket I got for $20, works great, and dual function of slightly better grip and arca plate.

I have the Kaza case/strap with the vintage leather and it looks/feels pretty nice. I will take some pics if anyone is interested.

Nice stuff Joon! Long time!

I just received the CV 35/1.7 Ultron. Boy that lens is quite a bit heftier than I expected. But so far so good.
I'm hoping it will be my go-to 35 (size is perfect). Can't wait to take it out this weekend.
Winter time sucks. It's now dark when I get home from work, so no dice on taking it anywhere interesting. I'll just have to shoot more backyard/dog stuff until the weekend.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I was a dummy and forgot I had put the camera in APS-C capture mode to see what the FOV would be like using my 38mm on a crop camera. I don't know how it took me so long to realize given how different a 28mm behaves on the two different formats, but thankfully even though I was at some pretty high ISO's it handled it pretty well I think. We went out for dinner on Halloween and my dream car was parked out front of the Sushi place
