Portugal?

I read a lot of threads about people asking which lenses to take on trips and most suggested are at the wider angle. I can't imagine going anywhere without a telephoto zoom of some kind. For light travel it used to be my 24-70 F4. I like shooting landscapes at those focal lengths, architecture and always new birds to shoot. This is one this shot is one of my wife's favourites and going on the wall.

I have decided to take it to Costa Rica as well as my 100-400 II.

I hate bright sunny contrasty days when shooting sports. My shooting sucked at this game. On top of that, my team played like crap but still managed to squeak out a win. Frustrating day. The only good thing was that the photographer for the local paper didn't make the trip and four of my photos made it in. One was a large photo of the leading article on the front page of the sports. Several crappy photos from the game.

Trying again tonight, will try One Shot. Also found a much larger torch for initial focus....if they are there.

I've noticed that with my 7D2 as well. You are using the same lens as I am for football; but looks like your games are better lit, possibly daytime hours mostly. How are typically white balancing? I was looking through your gallery pix. Nice work Man! I just moved to the 7D2 from a 1D3 White balance has seemed a little trickier with the 7D2 for some reason.

One from many today (hundreds). I think the Oropendola looks best when flying transverse but this is what I got....the decision to bring the 300 I think was fine, with the 1.4TC I've not needed anything more except one time when we found a Laughing Falcon-did him with a 2.0 TC. So here is the Montezuma Oropendola.
Pondrader, when hiking today...we did about 4 miles...we were constanly soaked and not from rain. The heat and humidity are amazing :) I'm enjoying the tons of birds/bugs but my heart ain't in the jungle :)

They installed new lights this year at McNeese's Cowboy Stadium so the lighting is a little better this year when it gets dark. Some of the shots at the home games are before dark. Won't be that way this coming Saturday with daylight savings time gone. It will be dark from the beginning and it maybe a little wet unless they miss the forecast.

When shooting outdoors when the light will be changing (daylight to dusk to artificial lighting) I just shoot with AWB. I'm shooting RAW, so I adjust the white balance to my liking in Lightroom. At McNeese's basketball game with the new LED lighting they installed before last season and with the lighting constant, I shoot (if I remember right) 4500K.
