Cloudy conjunction.

Edit - this image looks terrible in Firefox on my system. Pixelated and banded. On a second system it's better but not great. Looks fine in LR and Fastone Image Viewer which I use as a fast/light image viewer.

FF is (rapidly becoming was) my preferred browser. I've been slow to upgrade as it's getting progressively worse with each release. Reluctant to jump ship to Chrome but may end up switching if Pale Moon proves to be equally poor at rendering images.

I don't have colour management setup in browser. Looking into it.

System 1
Win7 64 SP1, Radeon 3400
IE 8 - good
PM 25 - bad
FF 35 - very bad, looks like 16 bit gradients

System 2
Win7 64 SP1, GeForce 310
IE 11 - good
FF 41 - better than 35 but still sucks

Just me or is the image itself faulty (bad shot, poor processing in LR)?

Lee

Looks fine to me (also using FF), my monitor is nothing flash, just a widescreen AOC, but I'm using XP...hate all the later OS's...

Thanks for confirming. XP is a great OS, one of the more transparent releases MSFT has managed to put out. I don't blame you for staying put. Arbitrary user interface redesign and feature creep is the curse of the industry.

I guess I can cross Pale Moon off the list. I left it sitting idle on my flickr page overnight, no other tabs and I didn't even scroll the page. It consumed 3G memory doing nothing and ground to a halt. FF's memory management is bad but at least in 35+ it's better than this.

<sigh>

I should point out that I also never upgrade anything...

Any time a pop up window shows it's ugly head with a "a newer version is available" or "a new update is available", I just close it!

I have learned the hard way, allowed a software update (NXE) to run on my original xbox360 and it loaded some godawful tween characters, rewrote the menu making it hideous and stopped all my old games from working around 4 years ago...Never been used since...

Although, I DID threaten to sue microsoft and they paid me out the original cost of the console and all games...
