You should consider yourself lucky. Most fields and gymnasiums around Chicago suburbia have 1.5 - 2 stops of light difference on different parts of the field /gym during the same game. Pretty impossible to make all the setting changes to keep up with play. This was one of the primary drivers for the EC for auto ISO in Manual mode. Even more light variance occurs when bulbs are out in a bank etc.
Again, You are luck of you are getting under a 1/2 stop variation easily fixable in Post.

Yeah, this is a new field, but I still don't want auto ISO giving me ISO 25600 when I can get away with 12800. I wish they had lights at both ends though, which is where is gets a bit dark.

South America. No AF issues, but did have an issue with the Auto Exposure on the 7D2. Took canon several tries to fix it, before they replaced AE assembly entirely.

I set ISO to a maximum of 16000 to prevent something unusable when shooting in Auto ISO.
