This is my typical 3 and 4 light setup. Not bad for 7' ceilings.

Real nice there. I gotta try the gridded octa kickers.

Thanks. Not my best work, but it's the happiest I've been with colour balance mixing strobes and speed lights.

I played around with 30"x40"x½" foam core from Blick this evening. This stuff has an extremely neutral color, so good for product work. It's also fairly rigid, and can support some weight. First piece of foamcore was suspended like a table by the far stand, with a bare 2'x3' frame supporting from beneath. Second piece of foamcore was suspended by the 2nd stand as a big reflector using a clamp (Matthews AFFLAC). Yup, I'm a Matthews junkie. Camera is mounted on the 3rd stand. 4th stand (Low Boy) is using bunches of grip gear to suspend a 2'x4' flag (for the camera), a 2'x3' china silk, and a 550EX. Speedlite is the only light source, and is slightly softened by the silk. Setup viewed from the front:

Setup viewed from the side:

Final result:

I left room for ad copy. :)

Canon, Nikon, Contax, Leica, Sony, Profoto.

I do use the Better Beamer quite a bit, especially in shaded forest areas or when walking trails where anything can pop out at any distance.
But the bare 600ex is powerful enough when subjects are close like this.
