First outing with the Batis.

Really digging the colors, and its really sharp wide open:

Degree of background blur may not match the 85L, but the quality of the blur is superb IMO. Very dreamy out of focus areas and not as clinical as the FE 55/FE90:

It'd be nice if the lens where an f1.4 or f1.2, but to be honest, f1.8 on an 85mm lens is really shallow already:

I actually use my Rokinon 85mm at f2 most of the time because at f1.4 the DOF is really just way too shallow for most subjects.

If I used 85mm more than this Batis would be at the top of my list, it looks like quite the lens :) I'm definitely going to enjoy lurking in here :lol:

Agreed! It always cracks me up when people shoot at f1.4 and fret about getting one eye in focus... that rarely (if ever) looks good to me, looks so much nicer with the whole face in sharp focus.
