My friends and some co-workers accuse me of being a birder. I tell them I'm at most an owl'er, but I can't disprove them looking at the birds on my Flickr page, who knows, maybe I'm a frogger :)

That looks like one amazing trip! How long was your trip and can you tell me where you thought were the highlights. I would love to book a similar trip in the future.

Great shot and composition. You're an excellent photographer by any name.

Lismore "The Legend"

This single malt scotch whisky is aged for at least 21 years and is sold as a limited edition. It has a rating of 93 and is 86 proof.

I think I'm going to do a small series of photographs of my favorite adult beverages.

Gene, not only have you inspired me to try this sort of thing (bought some plexiglass today especially) but also your background in these works so well. Like the cigar in this one too.

I wish I liked whisky but don't

PS its normally whisky when its scottish. Whiskey is normally irish and American

I was just going to write the same thing, Eddie. We are very fussy about the spelling as it distinguishes the Scotch version! And BTW you can call a drink or food 'Scotch' (Scotch whisky, Scotch egg, etc) but NEVER a person. A person is Scottish or Scots or even a Scot. (Right, Eddie?)

And Gene enjoy your Scotch, it's a great photo. I think you could get a job with the Scotch whisky promotional people.

Gene, those shots are fantastic. The cold lighting really compliments the warm background and makes it very moody. Well done! Really looking forward to see your whole bar :P

Eddie, I missed your PS. I'll make that spelling correction, thanks for pointing it out. And Annie, I agree with you too regarding spelling...and grammar too as far as that goes. It seems that they don't teach any of that in school anymore. Oh, and your Flickr pages are great!

Thanks for all the likes for my beverage shots. The best part is I get to drink them when I'm done. Hey! you wouldn't want me to waste anything would you? ;-)a

Zethar we were in CR for right at 3 weeks....imagine only 2 nights before flying home did we find out about the crap in France...we were're that lost in the wonders of the country.

Trip highlight was also the trip failure, my big embarrassment! I'd been shooting the yellow Eyelash Viper late in the afternoon-using tripod and 10 second timer. FORGOT to check
settings the next moring and watch a Margay walk right in front of me at maybe 20 yards--had him in my viewfinder/focuses and me pushing the shutter button. By the time I remembered
or figured out why no release the 10 seconds was up and the cat was gone! Pics or it didn't happen! BUT we saw one and that was a trip highlight.

Triplowpoint- getting on the plane to come back. There were so many targets I wanted, example the White Hawk-saw one at a distance but never could find him.

Shucks Gene. My fragile ego could use a dose of that! I think I'm the kind of photographer that just gets lucky every now and then. Now let's talk about single malt!! It's close to vodka right Ha!
