anyone using an infra red filter..... how good are they. I am contemplating getting a modded camera but if a filter can get me 60 percent of the same result I might not.

I tried a couple years back, with the wavelengths that were supposed to work the best and they didn't come close. Id say maybe 20-40% while the vast majority of the images I couldn't even process in color.

With the amount of second hand mirrorless bodies out there I would just get one converted. B&H had a EPL2 with the kit lens for $110. The lens alone retails for $500. Also the EOS Ms are bargains right now.

You could buy the filters now and then after conversion use them as well. I believe you require one anyways, either on the sensor or lens.

i tried a filter i bought for a lens and it didnt give me the images i was looking for and that I've seen,i am on the fence to have a conversion done,i have a spare mirrorless sitting around so if i can find a company in canada that will convert ill give it a go,i tried all kinds of settings in aperture on my mac to edit the images with the filter but none gave me the look i was looking for,the filter was hard to use also, guessing exposures, and such,i may give it a go on the em5 i have with the rokinon 35mm lens as with its live time theres no guess work for the exposure:-)

Tanqueray No. Ten Gin gets its name from being made in Tanqueray’s number ten still. Normally I prefer a Vodka Martini but "Tiny Ten" makes for a very smooth coctail with a stronger citrus note than Juniper berry. Tanqueray 10 is 94.6 Proof and is rated 97.

^That 90mm is razzle-dazzle sharp. Love that rich emerald green. Another super cool shot!

The A7RII with a Canon 50L. Cropped to square and straightened and I still have more megapickles left over than either of my Canon bodies. Yeah, I'm loving it.

yep BC is an incredible place to live. Us fortunate enough to travel through several times visiting parks, on the way to the Columbia Icefields, generally tooling out of Vancouver or Vic Island. In fact I was showing pic of NZ to a co-worker and he said NZ was surely the most beautiful place I'd been. I told him no, the most beautiful place I'd been was BC and Alberta. Color me jealous :)
