LOL!!!

I cropped it from the OTHER end.. Here is the original, unedited. I was on a boardwalk with the lens and converter mounted and couldn't move back to get more of the beast in the frame, so I went for the front end view!!! I figured if I bothered to remove the converter the light would be gone- it was the end of the day, sun was setting. So I went with what I had.....

Depends on the situation. But most of mine are with a tripod.

This lens has changed my photographic life. Great combo with the 7D2 which has also changed my photographic life. About a 50% crop and some color adjustments in LR.

Nice to see somebody so happy with their gear.
Shots look very good, Ed.
But didn't you shoot with the Tamron 150-600mm before?

I still do. Have both. I've been using the 400 lately because I just got it (used, actually I bought both of them here on POTN) and am giving it a thorough shakedown. I had both out today and did well with both of them. The 400 is relatively small and light and fun to carry when I want to go light. I like both lenses and will likely keep them both.

Question. Are you'll hand holding this lens with the 7D2? Do you find that you need to up the SS more to get that sharp image?

Thanks

Curious. Are you'll shooting hand held or on a tripod?

70% handheld, 30% tripod. Exactly the opposite of my Sigma 150-600 Sport.
