We buried my Grandmother today. She was 93 years young. She loved to garden, care for her family, and watch her favorite Soap Opera the Young and the Restless. When I think of her I think of a simpler life. A life where God and family come first. Neither of us live on a farm but this seemed fitting as I have to say goodbye to her. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega and I must remember that this isn't our home. Tonight I say a prayer of thanksgving for her life and for the life I've been given to carry on her spirit.

I love you Grandma.

Moving tribute, Mike. I realize it's hard to lose a loved one, but at 93, she had a full life. I lost my dad at 91 and my mom is still going strong at 92, and I'm continually amazed at how much history they lived through - the Depression, WWII, the Cold War, Vietnam. The list is long. So celebrate your grandmother for a life long and well lived.

Cheers,
jon

Thanks Jon. That's wonderful about your parents. It's unthinkable these days to have parents live such long lives into their 90's. I'm glad to hear your mom is still doing well.

One of the most photographed statues on the planet. At the Nelson, of course.

I just had to share some good news to all my photographer friends out there. A start up band from Texas that has just produced their first album has contacted me about using a photograph of mine for their cover art. I won't mention the band till its finalized but its pretty exciting. I have never done this for the money but its nice to be recognized. Once its done I will post on here.

I'm looking forward to getting down to the Plaza with these rainy streets and hopefully to Union Station sometime soon or the season. Anyone else got some photography must do's on their list?

Mike D
