Initial impressions;

Feels nice and small but heavy - very dense. A little hard to hold onto -- gonna take some getting used to. EV a little disappointing but I suppose better than nothing and will be used only when absolutely necessary. Lens cap is a thing of beauty! Battery life feels like it is better than A7RII even though it is smaller -- I suspect due to no IBIS.

Image quality - out of this world! This is gonna be one fun camera.

I took some shots on a walk this morning - absolutely dismal day with no light. Here is one wide open. Corners look very good. Some CA visible but not too bad.

Couldn't wait for my order to get in stock at Crutchfield, promptly canceled my order there since they couldn't give me a definitive in stock date and instead called up my guy at Cameta. Hopefully they'll be able to ship it out today and I'll get it shortly next week.

Normally I'm against extended warranties but decided to get the 5 ur Platinum through Cameta. Covers against accidental damage and after reading about how poor Precision camera is with both repairs and surprise repair estimates, figured that for less than the tax would've cost me from Amazon, the extended warranty from Cameta would give me the peace of mind.

I ordered three extra batteries in advance from ebay with charger for $20. Hard to beat that deal and the batteries work great.

Have you noticed the lack of IBIS being a difficult work around? Normally it wouldn't bother me as I have a history of shooting non stabilized DSLRs with primes but with the exception of my D810, they've all been 22 mp or so or lower. And my only experience with shooting a 42mp+ has been the ibis enabled a7rII. Normally I tend to shoot at 1/100 or faster simply because even with IBIS I have my 55 1.8 on the camera the majority of the time. But I've been following a user on getdpi who has extensive experience with the RX1 and now she has the Mark II and noted that she has to shoot at much faster shutter speeds, and seeing your shots it seems like they're all 1/100 or faster. I don't shoot at slow shutter speeds regardless of the fact since mostly taking pictures of my kids requires 1/100 or faster, but maybe 1 out of 20 shots or so I'll slow it down to 1/60 or so.

I envision myself being a 1/100 or faster (or basically 1/3x FL) but would like to know that I can take it down to 1/50 or 1/60 or so if need be. Obviously I wouldn't expect to get acceptable results at 1/15 or so like I can with the a7rII.
