Sorry to be the last to ask or notice this, but having been away for a while... I notice the 7DM2 is about $500 cheaper ($1299 on Amazon) than it was some months back? Am I correct? And if so, should I expect the price to rise again, and if so when? Thanks!

Pricing is anyone's guess. The best tool to judge pricing is to go to CanonPriceWatch and scroll down to the bottom and look at the price history for the item. It is hard to judge the pricing of the 7D2 because it has not been out long enough for there to be much more than one year's price history yet, but this is still the best thing to go on.

The page for the 7d2 is here: http://www.canonpricewatch.com …EOS-7D-Mark-II-price.html (external link)

Also look at similar cameras to see how their history looks. The price of the 7D2 should change somewhat similar to the 6D, 70D, and the 5D3. Check their pricing history and make the extrapolations. Just beware, no matter how good your data is, it is still just an educated guess.

Part of the pricing drops we have seen this year is due to the week international markets. Also keep that in mind. If the international market continues to decline, imported prices as a whole will continue to slip. If that market improves, prices will increase. That is hard to predict, but all that is a part of how businesses set their retail prices.

My best advise, consider using CanonPriceWatch's street price or greentoe if you want the best prices.

Samy's Camera has the 7dii for $1299 and no tax. So it's $1191 plus 9% tax.

Actually, you can get a pretty good deal on it from Adorama this week:

http://www.adorama.com …liate.62259.bund-36637760 (external link)

$1129 for a new 7D2 and Canon PIXMA Pro 100 printer after rebate. I don't expect this discount to be around for long. Actually I think the printer rebate expires on the 28th. Canon might replace it with a different rebate setup after that though.

The 6D and 7D2 both seem to be settling in at around $1000 - 1200. I can't imagine them dropping much lower than that until after their replacements come out. If they dropped to the $800 territory, that would really encroach on the 70D, and even the Rebel line.

Thanks for posting this. Been looking for a good deal and this seems to be the best one out there that I have run across. Does anybody know if the MarkII has touch screen? It is not essential, but just curious.

It's currently $1299 at all authorized dealers. I'd personally prefer B&H or Adorama over Amazon. Not sure how long it will be at that price, but if you want it, I would get it now!!!

No, it does not have a touch screen, nor an articulating one. If you want an articulating touch screen consider the 70D.

Additionally, you will not be able to get the $1129 deal at an authorized dealer unless you act immediately.. Adorama is not selling it for that price for long.

The price of 7DII i found in some grey market here is nearly $1100 brand new, i bought some gear from them and none issue with any of them yet, i don't care if there is no guarantee or it is not brand new completely or whatever, as long they bring it in the box as new and they open it in front of me to be sure and buy it at very low price then i am happy, i can't tell if the lens is used or brand new or just for demo by just watching it, even with Authorised dealers here they have the boxes on shelves and they open it in front of me, i can't tell if they are brand new as well and at the end i pay doubles with authorised dealers.

If someone has a vacation and have a budget for DSLR then visit UAE and i will take you to those stores and buy if you want, i know maybe this post is pointless or maybe irrelevant, but prices is always a worry thing, and if i buy online from overseas even from USA, why not other from other country buy from here[UAE] if possible? I can put a list of gear/equipment with prices from here grey market stores or say not the Authorised Canon dealers, mostly Canon cameras and lenses i can find, i almost stopped to buy online because i found better prices here.

Amazon is back up to $1399, a $100 jump since I first posted this. Hoping to buy from them, and hoping they don't keep going back up in price. I need to wait until later this month at earliest to pull the trigger.

I grabbed the Adorama bundle which now appears gone. You only got to the $1140ish net by taking a rebate in the form of AMEX gift card. We've got a plan , keeping in mind on many of those cards you need to transact for the exact amount to close it; additionally the issuer may charge you for holding it beyond a fixed number of months or charge you per balance inquiry.

Holy cow is that Pixma 100 printer huge, though. Now I've got to liquidate it on Craigslist, which I am not looking forward to (along with the old 7D). With a replacement set of inks at around $100 I can see why Canon wants to get more of those out the door.

It's a bit of runaround for the price but worth it. Love the new 7DII

EDIT: there is now an $1199 bundle over at B&H:

As of today the Canon 7D Mark II price went up to $1399 at B&H, $100 more than the past week or so. I suspect that after Christmas it will go back up to $1499 which is still $300 less than the original asking price.
