Thanks for all of the kind comments. This was taken at sunrise on the morning after the 1st big snowfall of the year down there. The clouds obstructed much of the view so I waited for them to open just enough to get this photo, but most of the landscape wasn't visible at all that morning. It was a wonderful visit though as we only saw two other people out there that morning. I pretty much got lucky in that the clouds opened up just long enough and formed the way they did!

This is an example of the conditions at the North Rim when we were there. This was just to the left of the canyon ridge in my previous photo. We waited for a while to see if things would clear, but the clouds just got thicker...just below these two trees is one of the huge falloffs that are so common in this park. (admittedly taken with the 50 1.8, but used for an example).
