Funny, this shot comes up as manual focus in the exif info. Don't see any settings out of wack. Guess the camera couldn't focus on a sheet of white but it still took the shot. As a result, it is a little out of focus but don't need sharp focus here anyway.

I don't think the fox that made those tracks has any worries about me catching him :-)

On the up side the willow ptarmigan are around again. Now, can I get a shot of one flying this year. Woohoo!

We'll forgive you, and we won't even tell Canon that you keep shooting Servo with Spot AF point against their recommendations and to capture their expected subpar (NOT! ) results.

My buddy shelved his 7D2 and bought a Gray Market 1dX and his opinion is that 1DX is 10x better than the 7D2, He thought he got his 7D2 dialed in because he was getting really sharp pictures with it and my buddy has lot of years experience in photography way back film day, I mentioned him this site and thread and also told him to check his firmware if it is 1.0.5? or 1.0.4? (not sure). he noticed his pictures were soft suddenly and don't remember if it is after he upgraded to the latest firmware.

I do wish I was a rich mans son Peter, but I'm not darn it, I don't see a 1DX in my future. but dreams are good !! I the mean time I just got off the phone with service in toronto and at least I have a novel started and going on my case file. and I am as we speak writing a second novel in a email that the tech or anyone repairing my camera will have to read or so I was told. with Images and as much detail with out losing them in the read. I'm thinking if I add some images from Glamour & Nude I can hold there attention longer. what do you think

I like your other foxy photos much better.... they are both glamorous and I guess you could say "au naturel" as well. Fur coats are luxurious.

I have a file started at Canon as well. I'm getting a shipping label from them on Tuesday to send mine back as well. I'm thinking this is the last trip... if it isn't restored to its previously pristine shooting condition then, I'm going to start asking for my money back.

I do know this. I have eliminated the photographer from the equation. I'm getting wonderful results with my used 1D IV... a camera manufactured in 2009. I'm even able to use the 1.4X and 100-400ii combo with just a very slight loss of detail. I was getting similar results with my 7D2 and 100-400ii until it all went away.

Same here Jeff only in my dreams I can get the 1DX that is why I have my mind set up with 7D2 and hoping you and the others can get their 7d2 fixed or at least Canon should recognize the problem with it and fix it. This is only a hobby for me so 7D2 should be good enough for me. I was out during the weekend shootings Short - eared Owl my 7D is outnumbered by 7D2 of all 8 of us in a field, 5 has 7D2, 2 got 1DX and me alone with 7D.
