mdman I cannot tell you when peak activity is, sorry.
BUT if you google Conowingo Dam and go to the official site you will find a phone number that you can call
the day before and it will list/announce the next day's generating schedule.....that is when they release the water, the fish in the resevoir
above go through the turbines and get stunned, some even killed, and this makes it easier for the eagle to pluck the fish from the water.

Why I came to Conowingo- I wanted to see an eagle catch a fish!
And I have to correct my earlier whinning about being undergunned. Yesterday I watched eagles fight over a fish directly over my head and into the trees, I saw an eagle catch a fish 10 feet in front of the big row of photographers on the half circle concrete viewing stand (the 500s and 600s could only watch it was so close.
Any I came with the hopes of seeing 'fishing' and I saw lots of it. Maybe at L&D 14 I can image some fighting=fingers crossed. Time to drive home now

Ya no kidding, I seen eagles yesterday on my way to find the foxes but the water here is still open and way to large to get close enough for good shooting. Soon the water holes will be much smaller and I can get something half as good.

Well its time to say hi (I have been sitting in the background reading and enjoying pics)
I have at last bit the bullet and got the 7d mkll and the sigma 150-600 c (up from the 7d and sigma 150-500)
So only get chance at weekends to get out to play and weather is not great here in uk at the moment but the questions will start coming your way soon

I agree with you. It's the first camera i really like shooting in less than good lighting conditions!
