I overexposed the silver beak just a bit. Then pulled it back in photoshop.
Still needed to bring up the darks to get it right.

I am simply in AWE of you all's talent in here! I am nowhere NEAR shooting that good! My only long glass is an old Sigma Bigma, 150-500. I may get a chance to try it out on my new refurb 7DII over the next few days. The winter storm is finally clearing out and temps are going back into lower 50's starting tomorrow. Just wanted to give an atta boy to all of you who share your great photography with us!

Peak activity is now, just after Thanksgiving. It's good action all the way to about the end of December, but of course no one can predict Mother Nature. Always check the weather forecast before you go.

Well at the risk of sounding morbid, you will see from my sig that nearly all my gear has gone, and what I'm left with will revolve around the 7Dmkll and I think I've left most of my bases covered after treating myself to the 24 pancake for street work which arrived yesterday.

After my recent, and previous health scares, and being a one parent family to two young adults, one of whom is autistic, I decided that I needed to "get my house in order" before I cark it so there is now another 6k in their trust account and my granddaughter Jade is promised the remainder of my gear as I'm tired of seeing pics of her beautiful raptors taken only with a phone ...............but I digress.

I'm not yet allowed to drive so it may be a while before I can pin a few more birds but these boring test pics are from my backyard taken this morning with the 24 at only 6" away. It seems fine, so much so that considering the close focus of this and the 100-400mkll was even thinking of parting with the 100 macro but for what I would get for it (non-IS) I guess I'll keep it for portrait work

My photographic ventures rests purely in the hands of the 7D Mkll now as I feel that the 5D3, the Olympus, and the associated lenses that I had, are an ill afforded luxury when this camera can do so much.

Thanks Jeff glad you know the art but the man is a bit of a prlck...............at least that's what my boys tell me when I tell 'em to do their own ironing
