Great image, I know that pier well.

Thanks Hawk ... Wish I could have taken some sunrise shots, but was there on business and had to leave the next morning.

One of the most photographed statues on the planet and you chose to shoot his butt.

I just don't know what we're going to do with you.

hey, good butt shots are hard to come by!

(btw, it's my understanding that there are many "original" copies of that statue all around the world? at least that was based on my research when i saw one on display in the toronto museum. do you know where the "most original" statue exists?--or if there even is one?)

welp, since i know we have some butt connoisseurs here are a couple more for your enjoyment:

btw, i believe this statue was in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (or maybe the latest 007, spectre?). anyone spot it?

Har!
I have a small collection of "sculpted" behinds, but I think I'll decline posting any more.

According to Wikipedia (where else?), there are 28 monumental size copies of The Thinker, only about 10 of which were cast in Rodin's lifetime. Rodin willed the right to cast it to the government of France, so I imagine the number will grow somewhat. As for which is the "most original", the University of Louisville and the Rodin Museum in Paris are probably the earliest. The U of L cast was shown at the 1904 Exposition. Btw, the Rodin Museum is well worth a visit.

No telling how many smaller versions exist - probably many thousands.

I know the Maryhill Museum here has the only plaster cast of the reduced version. They have a lot of Rodin's work here. All the body parts from broken pieces, tests and experimenting are kinda creepy.
