Sonyalpharumors.com is reporting a 24-70mm F/2.8 FE, shipped in March. What are the chances of this being true?

I cant find where is says on SAR what the ratings mean but this is SR2 out of a possible 5 (SR5 being the highest/most likely). The 24-70 f/2.8 is definitely coming but who knows how accurate this date is

As much as I'd like to get excited about an FE 24-70 my econo Tam 24-70 will do considering how much I use it and it does we'll via Metabones. If Sony would give me anything it would be 400/4, I know it would be just as heavy as EOS but at least I'd save some body weight.

I'm in the same boat. While f2.8 zooms are a must for the FE mount, it's hard for me to get excited about them. Zooms to me are something I own more out of necessity. They aren't my first choice, but there are instances where they are very useful (event shooting)

Im curious how the 24-70 2.8 will look both physically and optics and the weight. I have a high chance of going for it since its my most used walk around.

new body might have to wait till mark 3. I wonder how their new sensor will apply into their line ups.

Congratulations DF...

Haha thanks everyone. Finally...

But now i have to put it to good use. First thing i did was software update and setting everything up how id like.

First impressions are super, but the shutterspeed dial which is now made of a sort of rubber instead of plastic from the old version seems to be more sticky. Not sure if i like it but i will get used to it im sure. AF with the Fe90 is great. Not so much near MFD but thats what i expected. Really tempted to get the FE28 instead of the CV21 1.8 because of that AF :S

I use AFC 90% of the time. Even on portraits. Not sure if that's what everyone else does?
