Some from the Burt Munro Challenge last weekend, they put up 2.5m fences around the whole track this year that aren't really ideal for shooting photos:

I like that one 2SLO. If only the rope wasn't across the staircase, but that was out of your control - pity.
I am almost expecting Peter Cushing/ Vincent Price or similar to appear at the top of the stairs. Very atmospheric - I like it.

Thanks John. I could get rid of the rope quite easily but the idea of the shot was the viewer gets drawn up the staircase only to be thwarted by the rope blocking their path to the upper floor, hence the title of 'off limits'. Glad you like it anyway :-)

Another one I took today, also with the 1Dx + 35mm f/1.4L, at Beamish museum:

Missing one arm one leg, I'm fairly sure someone else posted a photo of him from another race recently (might have been in the 6D forums) who new the details. I'm guessing ehe has an auto shift or clutch, and possibly linked rear/front breaking. I'll see if I can find the post and see for sure.

He also has a big green ball on the back of his bike, which I'm guessing is there to warn drivers behind him.

Found it:

David Stallard wrote in post #17744037 (external link)
Thanks - I believe it's an auto shifter set up (engages the clutch as the gear lever detects pressure) and unbelievably good core muscle / control, lot more control steering by adjusting weight on foot pegs - still very impressive huh!!!

.DAVID.

Edit: different racer, the guy in in Davids post is just missing an arm. I'm guessing based on David post, that he's got the same setup, but due to one leg, has both brakes linked together. So linked front/rear break and throttle on the handle bar, and auto clutching shifter on the foot.

There is a short article here if you want to know more: http://www.stuff.co.nz …-than-half-a-hero--letter (external link)
