The best flaring I could get with this lens. Not so flared... Any tips from anyone?
The sun was hitting the lens full whack from top left.

I find it easier on shorter FL than 85. Easier to get some atmosphere in the frame and not be too far from the subject.

My cousins were over the other day so I took the opportunity to take some pictures. Also pictured is my neighbor's dog. My little cousin Sofia was so camera shy, it was difficult to get any good shots until my uncle came to help lol

That is one of the clearest most beautiful shots I've seen in a while. Great work! Would you mind sharing your setup?

Sure :)

I used speedlight in 35" softbox (appollo type), grid to get the BG a bit darker. (great travelling setup)

I ended up replacing the BG in photoshop and I added some colors to the empty areas of the skin.

BG blurred to mach the DOF and in overlay mode to make things blend well and fine hair show up.

I finished the photo in NIK CEP and the detail exractor (at low opacity) made the image "pop"

easy peasy ;)

(p.s this is shot in my mothers living room and the model is my daughter)
