This place was not a fancy sit-down, and mostly had sandwiches and other pre-made food "para llevar" and you walked up to the glass counter and ordered. It possible that Café Comercial had a side entrance with separate area for walk-ins, it was definitely either that place or within meters of that location.

I like the old school places where you see the real Madrilenos purchase a meal; taxi drivers, kids & old people. A place where one can smell the lovingly unique mixed odor of Ducados and Saimaza in the air.

Ahhh, Cuzco, that's where the mall used to be (if its still open). I used to drive though that intersection to connect back to M-30 .

Probably wasn't the Cafe Comercial then ... that had more of a 'sit down and have a coffee' vibe going. I want to know where you mean, but I can't think of anywhere doing un "san'wich para llevar" around there, though I was often walking past in a bit of a blur either for the metro or to get to my ex's house ... on neither type of walk was I in the market for a sarnie. I'll pay more attention next time I'm round there ...

Don't forget the Vermouth ... a place that still does Vermut de grifo is usually a place frequented by Madrileños de toda la vida.

There's the Moda Mall down near the Bernabeu, that's been open 25 years now, or 30 ... it says something about an anniversary on it anyway.

Agreed on the cracking sun shafts. Spectacular as in nature.

Moda Mall? Maybe they changed the name...it was LaVaguada when I was there (if its the same place). had a former brother-in-law that worked in the Al Campo Hipermercado (if that's still there!).

This is inside the Linh Ứng Pagoda in Ba Na, Viet Nam (located in the mountains of the central highlands)

Ahh, la Vaguada ... I thought that was out Barrio del Pilar way? I went to a mall with that name a couple months ago though, definitely still there ... and closer to the M30 than Cuzco.

Oh yeah, that's right. There wasn't as many Metro stops back then, I think Barrio del Pilar was added after the mall opened. Used to drive there anyways, would come from N-II and then onto M-30 toward Charmartin.

The Northern burbs were kinda like the newish more modern area popular with younger more affluent families back then, Getafe was popular too. Arturo Soria and La Moraleja were the rich areas. Vallecas was the Ghetto, probably still that way.

I find churches creepy places to visit. They scare the hell outa me. Maybe that's the point.
Still, they present nice light for the odd shot.
I don't stay long. The only time I've ever been in a church by choice was my first marriage and that got me into a whole lot of trouble.
