The only modifiers I currently have are the Cheetah Qbox 24, and a 43" Westcott Shoot-through umbrella. Will I need to pick up a speed-ring for the Rovelight? Will I be able to use my Qbox with the Rovelight without a speed-ring, and/or with a speed-ring? If I do need one, could someone recommend one? Using a mono-light is completely new territory for me. I've been reading as much as I can when I've had the time. I don't have my Rovelight yet, it should arrive on Monday, however it will be next Saturday before I'll know. If I need a speed-ring I'd like to know before, so I can order it and hopefully have it by next Friday or Saturday.

I've been using the Qbox with my speedlights, using a S bracket, which the Qbox fits nicely on.

I'm about maxed out on budget for a while. Other expenses jumped up, so hopefully won't need to spend much more for now.

I just ordered a 36" parabolic octabox from cheetahstand for the Rovelight. It will be used on location all the time.
Can't wait to start using it next season. Right now its the holidays so I'm itching to shoot leisurely.

Hi, You will need a 6 in flange insert or adapter for your Qbox - see earlier in this thread. Also, check that the Qbox material does not touch the flash-tube when mounted. Compared to a Speedlite, Rovelights are quite heavy, so think through some strong stand/mounting options. Enjoy the power!

Hi, I can hear mine across a quiet room - but outside or with ambient noise, I'd struggle to hear it.

Hi, I think not. Unless we are at crossed purposes.

Assuming your Qbox works on the 6 in flange of a Godox S bracket or similar, - then - you need an insert or adapter that has a Bowens 'S' bayonet on the near side & a 6 in flange for your Qbox.

Something like (but ignore the speedring/modifier):

I'm guessing you're referring to that gray plastic looking ring as being the 6" flange. Thank you, however hopefully I chose correctly. I pulled the trigger on a Fotodiox, Ez Pro 48" SB.. HERE (external link), looks like I got the last one...:lol::lol: I'll just use my Qbox with my speedlights.

In your previous post you commented about the Rovelights being heavy. I took care of that last week. I now have sitting here a Matthews 40" Hollywood "C" stand w/boom arm. (external link) :-) Wow, just checked when I retrieved the link, I must have taken one of the last ones of those too...

Hi, Yes, but it's light alloy.

The two other items look perfect. I love my 'Easy-open' Octa and my Matthews stand but it was their 'Light / Heavy Triple Riser ' aluminium item.

Thanks Hellen for clarifying
I've sent a request in for the new one, When can I expect it to be shipped?
It doesn't give any info or confirmation.

Thanks!

My replacement light arrived today, finally!

This one definitely has the V2 controller as it was marked so on the package as well on the battery door.

Charged up the flash battery and fired a few test shots in the office - it works! Looking forward to getting out there and trying it this weekend.

I'm strongly considering this light. i do have the flashpoint 320 and 620 lights so i know flashpoint are reliable. I'm sure i wont use 600W of power , but its good to have. I also like the onboard battery pack, one less thing to carry. Now i have a few light modifers that i would like to know if i could use with the rovelight, for example:
Westcott rapidbox
Westcott Orb Series softbox

thanks
Steve

You may use the soft boxes as long as they are the Bowens mount...

Happy Shooting:lol:
