Thanks. That Scotch looks like something I need to add to my list of scotches to try.

If anyone needs prints, I recommend ProDPI. They are fast and the quality is great. Prices are reasonable too. I ordered an assortment of 5x5 and 5x7 prints of my son and the total was $60 for 55 prints. About a $1 a print. I had my order in 4 days. The only con is using their ROE software but once it's setup, it's a breeze.

ProDPI came out on top from the other online print labs based on an article I found. Will link it here.

95% of my printing is done by Bay Photo, I have managed to get my screen calibration setup to a point that my prints look like what I see on screen...I have used WHCC also, but can't quite get my calibration right for their output.

Good point. I would use Bay Photo or Whitewall for large prints. Anything smaller than an 8x12 I would use ProDPI.

Am I mental for considering the 85L II when the Batis is an option? I loved my 50L when I had it (sold it to fund A7RII) and feel theres something special about bokeh at 1.2. Ive got the FE55 so the 50L doesnt make sense but I have always wanted the 85L II. Its obviously heavier, larger and slower to focus than the Batis plus it needs an adaptor but I still find myself considering it. 85L II price (used) is the same as Batis 85 new. Then theres the rumoured Sony 85mm on the horizon, possibly a 1.4 lens.

Has/does anyone use the 85L II on the A7RII? Am I crazy even considering this?

^^not sure why you would buy the 85LII...its slow to focus already, I am sure that through an adapter it would be even slower...

And that leads me to a question I know you will be able to answer...how do you manual focus on a non native lens, I am sure you do it, you use the 24TSE...is there a zoom in like the live view on the Canon? I looked it up, and the focus magnification trick doesn't work with non-native lenses...so how do you zoom in or focus manually...like shooting in the dark for example?

I use the 85LII with a7Rii, and I can confirm that is one sick combo. As we all know, 85LII is already slow to focus on Canon cameras and it is no different when mounted on a7Rii (meaning it focuses in native speed lol). Despite it being somewhat slow (but fast enough in most situations), I had absolutely zero problem using it in real life. The IQ is just fantastic and sharpness at 1.2 is just as good as when using it on my Canon. The resolution power of a7Rii really shines with the 85LII.

I am however waiting for the new Sony 85mm release. I wanted the Batis 85 but might need to wait for Sony announcement first. Ever since getting the Batis 25mm, I am really appreciating the size and weight advantage when compared to Canon 24mm 1.4LII + Metabones.

Unless you already own an 85LII, I'd wait for the Sony 85mm release first.. But if you can't wait, I don't really think you can go wrong with the 85LII.

Focus magnify works. Set one of your custom buttons to focus magnify and then you can press it for different zoom amounts. You will automatically be in MF with the TSE lens but for other lenses that have AF and MF switch to MF first (on the body and lens)
