Both of them shot with Canon 60D, 50mm f2.2

I wanted to post two others but I read the rules 2 images per thread If I'm not mistaking.

Good composition and subject isolation. Natural carefree look with your model makes for a warm photograph.

Thank you, I edit it in LR a little bit, but I like the final product.

My understanding is that a prime lens is a fixed focus lens not a zoom lens.

It's a fixed focal length, not a fixed focus. You would still focus per the situation and you would zoom by walking closer to your subject.

According to Wikipedia; In film and photography, a prime lens is either a photographic lens whose focal length is fixed, as opposed to a zoom lens, or it is the primary lens in a combination lens system.

Confusion can sometimes result due to the two meanings of the term if the context does not make the interpretation clear. Alternative terms primary focal length, fixed focal length, and FFL are sometimes used to avoid ambiguity.

We are referring to any fixed F/L lens in this thread, not zoom lenses.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was not referring to your post but this post 12 hours ago where the photo was taken with a zoom lens. The post has now been deleted.

The reason Saea501 corrected you was because you used the words "fixed focus" when the correct terminology as confirmed by the wikipedia article you yourself posted is "fixed focal".

"Focal" and "focus" are different :-)
