my transition in late august/early september from Canon 5d3 and 70d and a big bag of L glass to Nikon d810 and d610 has been one of the best changes I ever made.
I write about it here...

I am very pleased.

I would concur as well, i switched from 5d3/1dx to 810/d4s and I can't be happier

Interesting,... I too started my slow migration to Nikon with the D810 around the same time. Only I went from the 6D and 70D. Like you, I had a few copies of L glass facing unemployment in the bag too. Kept the glass and upgraded the 70D to the 7DMk ii,... sports is a big part of my shooting. Got a very good deal on the D810/24-70 f/2.8 kit, then landed on the 70-200 f/2.8 a couple weeks later. Waiting on B&H to fill their back-order on the 200-500 now.

I guess when the dust settles,... I'll have the 7D2 married up to the 24-105L, 70-200 f/2.8L II, 100-400L gen I, and the 135 f/2 prime. Don't know why I'm hanging onto to the 135 mil.

Challenge now is getting used to everything screwing on backwards. Amazed Nikon doesn't have a 600 EX-RT or 430 EX III-RT equivalent. But also like you,... I'm very pleased.
