I had a play with my brother in laws new A7Sii last week. It felt a nice piece of kit. I'm surprised there's virtually no love in the Sony threads for it, I think thats a testament to just how good the A7Rii is, and, I think the RX1r will suffer the same fate unless the pricing structure is different.

It could be due to the a7s being so good. The a7sii seems to me like a minor upgrade. Where as the a7rii seems like a massive leap from the a7ii/a7r. I've never used an a7s or an a7sii though so could be wrong

Well im not sure but i was surprised when I saw DXOmark ratings compared to the A7S. The A7S2 has a bit less dynamic range, color depth and is doing not as good at high iso as the A7S. Was really confused seeing that!

yeah me too, it showed the a7rii to have better high iso than the a7sii. Not sure how much I take from dxo scores though

How was it Gene? Never tried that one before.

Very smooth. I'll have to try a side by side with the 21 year old Lismore I have for a more direct comparison.

(I replaced that image with a slightly warmer version since your post.)

Gene. Can't exactly remember the original version but this one looks very rich and inviting. I really like it. Pull out a couple snifters, I'm on my way.

TMaG82, Thanks for the side by side comparison shots. While I have a serious case of GAS regarding the Zeiss 35/2 lens, I think I'll stick with my A7RII for now.

Finally. Had to bring my gf to the mainstation aeeeeearly in the morning today and decided to go to the city with th A7Rii for a first real shootout with morning light. Some files needed special PP treatment as the light conditions were not very forgiving but i like the outcome very much. Second one is a 2 shot hdr. First time i tried in camera brackets but decided to only use 2 frames as lightroom messed it up with 3. Really rewarding when viewed big. Details is amazing. I can tell that one of the trucks gets driven by Jorge  couldnt see it with my bare eyes!

OK, so I bought this adapter and now just need to figure out which M mount lens I want to play with first. :-) This one has the close focus ring too.

So USPS dropped the ball and most of my adapters didn't arrive(the priority tracking had yesterday as delivery). Have to wait until monday. Would normally blame it on the holidays but they're always this bad lol

The Pentax one did come, so here's a sample of the Samyang 135mm 2.8 wide open at MFD.

Some new 50mm/55mm lenses I traded for. Traded my AE-1P + FD 50mm f/1.8 for these two.
