Annie,

I'm not familiar with AUTEC or BUTEC. Lucky to have such a nice view of the subs underway through the channel. I do appreciate scenic shots (like my original post at the top), as it's something you have to work at to get.

I searched the archives back 6 months and couldn't find a thread. There's probably one in there somewhere, but I couldn't locate it. I'll start simple with a couple of shots of USCGC Mellon (WHEC-717), steaming out of San Diego.

Thanks for sharing. That's exactly what the intent of the thread is. Well done.

Absolutely Annie. Thanks for posting the pic of the sub underway. I was stationed on the USS Permit (SSN 594) from '75-'77.

Jon

You meant to say "subs" right :)

USS Buffalo SSN-715 1983-1987. There are subs and then there are targets.

Since you opened with USCG I hope that a couple of the almost British equivalent would be OK. They both do have (very small admittedly) guns mounted.

The first is HM Customs cutter Valiant seen at the 2005 Lowestoft Air Show.

The second is of the same type, but operated by the UK Border Agency. I don't know the name of this one. This was shot at the 2012 Lowestoft Air Show.

Caught this Gator Freighter ( LPD ) off of the coast of Imperial Beach from my Sister in-laws patio. I was on one of these from 1969-1970.
