Christmas season is here, so it's time to torment the ornaments by making them pose.

I'm digging that second one.

That cat ornament looks very lifelike.

Looking at your equipment it's obvious that you aren't new to photography, so I'm wondering what the purpose of this image was & why did you choose it as your first post?
Ordinarily I'd think that the blown out bike was because your monitor wasn't calibrated, but usually uncalibrated monitors are adjusted too hot out of the box, so I don't think that would explain it.
So what's the story behind the image?

Yep, the lower res pic here looks a bit blown. Not the other pics done in post... For a custom bike builder. Was tired of seeing what he had going on. Real tired. You know..."Guy With Camera, optional speedlight and bedsheet with no model". Showed him pics of the session and he nearly passed out. Also did some custom Harley shots too.

The goal was to have a very strong pic. In many ways. Lighting, colors (orange/blue) pose... Makes a nice poster with his brand and info on it. Did not consider it a beauty shot nor light it that way; although, as a favor for the model I did change up to a BD later and did a bunch of things for her. She is a total blast to work with.

First pic? I live in AZ and vomit when I see cactus and sunset pics here... :-). Nothing better to do at sunrise than a photo session.

I'm going to go for posting about the most obscure aspect of this...

I LOVE the yellow "caution" striped sandbags! They're great! One more little thing to keep folks from tripping over my light stands (they still will...) -- I know, Google is my friend, but do you remember where you got those?

LOL. Amazon, PBL Saddlebags by Steve Kaeser.

At the time, got 2x 4 packs. 4 for like $19.99. I used sand inside a ziplock bag. Easier to mess with and keeps the bag clean. Pee gravel, at least here was lighter by volume so used sand.

Thanks!

Maybe go with the other link another poster gave. Seems bit cheaper. Mine was shipping included though. Watch the shipping costs.

Amazon. Search for photo sandbags. Fill them with pea gravel, not sand.

I know this is OT to the thread
but since it's being discussed, lead shot works well and is clean and heavy.
I ziplock it also. :-)
