Congrats on the Batis 25 Gene. I got rid of both 35/2.8 and 28/2 in favor of the Batis 25. It is my go-to wide angle lens for the moment, and I am really liking the small form factor when compared to the Canon 24LII. IQ is no slouch either. Images are fantastically sharp and colors are just so beautiful.

Thanks everyone. I"m looking forward to taking photos with my new lens too. I also got something else new today that I may use my new lens to photograph it with.

Maverick, probably the same store you're thinking of...Image One Camera on Magnolia in Riverside. http://www.imageonecamera.com/ (external link)

Yup that's the one! Awesome group.

They always do photowalks in my neighborhood, they even had a Sigma sponsored one that I had to miss. Made me sad because I heard they had all the art line there.

It seems like I'm one of the few people here who can resist GAS. Well, sort of since I bought a gorillapod a few months ago. :p

Why not! I have thought many times about getting a gorillapod. Especially now with the small A7 cameras and smaller manual lenses i think you can use a pretty small one

Thanks. I'm looking forward to taking photos with it too. I was surprised at how light the lens is. I was expecting it to be much heavier but lighter is better in this case to me.

Same here, for a few long seconds I was actually marveling at the size of the coins and wondering what kind of coins they were. :-D

wow, that is sharp as all get out! That is amazing for a prime.

So...I learned something tonight...stars cover more than a pixel on the A7R...and even shorter duration exposures, when zoomed in to 400% they are moving in every exposure, clearly visible...

it was clear out tonight so I thought I would go test ISO and stars, even if its just a snap of my piece of the american dream...only ISO 200, to be able to pull stars out from that is unreal.
