Rain is forecast in the next few days but for now, it's still Indian Summer where I live. This is a single exposure facing into the sun.

We'd be glad to take some of that rain off your hands to be sure. :-)

Anh the thing that looks off about it is that when the water looks as still as the photo implies, you usually see a perfect mirror image with very little blurring. The 'blurriness' we typically see in water reflections is from choppiness in the water...so when you see a uniform blur like the image it looks artificial.

I'm not as savvy in photoshop as some people here, but if you could somehow make mirrored image look less blurry and more "choppy" if would be more convincing.

Cool image either way though!

This sensor is awesome when under exposing to preserve the highlights and then lifting the shadows in post.

I found this tutorial for creating ripples in a fake water reflection very good. I added an additional step of 90° motion blur Please keep in mind that I only had your small jpg to work with so your results should be much better.

Here's the tutorial. You can control the degree of ripples and their smoothness.

Still have the rebranded Tokina if anyone is
interested. Dropped the price tremendously, it's already been converted to Sony Full Frame E mount.

now that is getting much more believable...still looks generated, more like a rendering, but a dang good one.

What's this rain you speak of?
You're in Portland now, right? hehehehe.

I am. It's rained for 18 days straight (not all continuous) with at least 1/4" each day, I believe .
