Everytime I think I want to get a newer camera I come back to this thread. Then I take the money saved and go buy better glass. Thanks for keeping me humble.

My camera doesn't take great pictures.....I do!

I was looking between the 60D & 50D when I was choosing a backup camera to go with my 600D, even though the 50D is older i think its alot better than the 600D and some things are better than the 60D. Always better to get new glass or other stuff than another body unless your wanting to go full frame. Some images ive seen from 50D's look better than some produced by newer bodies with the same glass!

First one of the season to open after the recent torrential rains.

I agree. I thought my 50 might be getting long in the tooth, till I was out with a friend that had fairly new L glass in different lenths. He left me borrow a couple for a few different shots while we were out and we really couldnt tell the difference between a newer full frame and my 6 year old 50D. I think I'll keep it a while longer.

I was going to say the only thing that really bums me out about my 50D is the high ISO performance. However After seeing the dog on the couch, maybe I just suck at reducing noise which is probably the more likely option. Anyway, Mine is still kickin. It stays with the 100-400 attached to it pretty much at all times. I like having it in combination with my FF. The extra reach for birds is fantastic. if it had a slightly better focus system I'd be completely thrilled with it but it makes me happy enough to not ditch it for a 7D

It still renders up some gnarly details

Also gives some nice bokah with that 400

Been a while since I posted here, but thought I'd share this shot I took a couple weeks ago. Quite possibly my best eagle shot, yet.

Sailed on the Royal Caribbean ship The Independence of the Seas this summer, out of Southampton, so took my full bag of goodies (no baggage weight limits). I have a few favourites from the trip and thought I'd share this own taken before we got in to the Mediterranean and lost the twilight. So, somewhere off the North coast of Spain. :D

Got myself a brand new (unusual for me) Tamron 70-300, the one with VC as opposed to the IS, and it works well. Now I need to change my gear list on here. Still using the 50D and I have my eyes on a 5D MkII as my next addition to my kit. I have been using the new Tamron this past week and here is a favourite.
