I think the one item that is missing from that kit is a LensPen (external link). I get better results with a LensPen than with a microfiber cloth.

Another item that's missing in that image is my rocket blower. The micro fiber cloth is just to wipe down the camera body, LCD and lens body when out and about. I keep the other tools for cleaning at home. If I were to take a trip, then I would have a 2nd larger bag that would hold more 'stuff''.

In fact, I'm debating which rolling bag to get so that I can store ALL my photo/video gear in one location at home and be able to put it in the trunk of my car for trips. I would have at least one smaller bag for outings away from the car when on the road. Right now, I'm leaning towards the LowePro x300 AW. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …9_pro_roller_x300_aw.html (external link)

Your lighting is improving. Much better exposure than previous posts. I like the Background. I would have pulled back just a bit with the fill light and tried to get some catch light in his eyes. Looking forward to seeing more.

I bought this "L" bracket from ebay on the 4th of Dec. for $11.65 and it arrived today. For the money, so far I'm very happy with it. The space is a little tight to open the battery door but works fine and it looks like the side bracket may need to come off to access a couple of the side doors on the camera; something I will rarely, if ever, need to do.

Here's a link to the "L" bracket and a couple of shots I took of it. My apologies for posting images not taken with my Sony a7rII but rather of my Sony a7rII with the only other camera I have at the moment.

Gene, I've got the 70-400g + LA-EA3, optics are good, AF seems good as well. Dont shoot it much, but do have some shots from it. Great when you need 400.

I know, enough already with my new "L" bracket but I had to add one more image showing it from the back of the camera. :-)

(Have I mentioned lately how much I like the Sigma 35 f1.4? ) :-)

That's the adapter I had in mind too. Thanks for the positive comment regarding AF capabilities with it.

I misunderstood your post. I didn't realize you were offering your older version bracket if pyrospawn had the a7/a7r body.

I don't use an intervalometer but since Sony has a built in wireless receiver, I don't need to have a cable connected to the camera when I shoot using my wireless remote. Here's a shot of my camera bag that shows both wireless remotes I have at the lower left of the image. The one with orange print was replaced by the other one since I can start/stop video recording with that one as well as still images. Both have a 2 sec. timer if needed. I do understand why you would prefer a wired remote due to the limitations inherent with a wireless setup.

It would be great if Sony came out with a professional grade intervalometer with right angle connector for use with an "L" bracket to be sure.

yah i posted that already. many have update already and their initial feedback is the quick startup time.

oh ok. hehe. that's pretty cool. I'm still sporting the A7R1 and learned to cope with the slowness. live 120 fps :P

but hey.. the turtle will eventually get to the finish line.

The fit and finish of this "L" bracket is excellent. I like the fact that the mounting screw to the camera is recessed below the height of the lower plate so that the camera rests flat when placed on a table for example.

DTBaan I think next time we get an astro opportunity I'm going back to 'old school'. I've got an EOS T2i with
a modded sensor for H-Alpha emissions. I'd like to someday get something with a lot of red in it like Bernard's Loop,
The Flame, and others.
This might sound silly, but it's not about laziness for me, but how much I want to hurt the next day. My old body just
hates getting into all the bent over positions to see the screen. As nice as the tilt screen is I still prefer the EOS 70D
for this kind of stuff because the tilt and swivel makes a huge difference.

I agree. gotta love having some sort of screen positioning adjustments. I really do envy you and your wife going out on adventures even at that age. It makes me feel like I'm the older one hehe. I'm 35 and that sounds great. looking forward to seeing how the images turn out when you do.

I'll have to give it some time to see if that happens since I just got it yesterday but the fit seems very precise and tightens up nicely so I'm inclined to think it won't but I've been proven wrong many times in the past so don't hold me to it. ;-)a

Howdy folks.

Gene. I'm really jealous of your Batis 25. I can't find one anywhere. I guess I'll have to keep on waiting on that.
It's probably my next big lens purchase now that I have the 35mm prime covered.
Still planning on taking some Canon EF stuff to my Arizona trip (namely the 16-35/4 and the 70-200/4) because I don't have any kind of Sony equivalent at the moment.
Other than that, the rest of the Canon gear is staying home.

Still haven't been out shooting. It's been about a month. I need to get some shooting in this week before my trip, dammit!

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.
