Has anyone here attended the race? Any advice you can share? I live only a couple miles from the gate and this is my first chance. Are practice days worth the ticket price?

Bumping an old thread but I'm new and I figured I'd post around a bit.

Did you end up going to the event? I can't imagine living so close and not taking a look!

If i were to go again, I would go to some or all of the practice days. Just going to the race day is a bit crowded and hard to pick good spots. Also took HOURS to get up the hill... I missed some of the cars because the weather was so shotty that they cut the course down to about 500m lower than where I was. I hiked down but the police were very strict about letting us go any further down and the finish was just around the corner!

Here are a few random shots that I liked from the event.

And this one from the 1 mile drag race happening on the saturday if I recall correctly.

I didn't end up going this year, events conspired against me and a lack of preparation did me in. I'm planning on going this year though.
