Seriously, I have never seen a donate button or link anywhere since I've joined.

Where is it even at this point?

In other news, I donated. Thanks for all your work Pekka.

Very best,

Maybe this has been brought up.. .but what about POTN products? Like Vinyl stickers, hats, shirts, etc. It may encourage people to donate AND join! I just want some POTN swag!

Let's do a POTN swag design contest! Ideas & graphics are submitted, 5-10 choices are chosen by mods, and then we can vote on them in a thread poll?

I think black T-shirts with cool skulls and fire, and POTN scripted in barbed wire would work.

Just kidding. But I agree that hats, shirts, maybe stickers for the car, could be a good source for income and a way of advertising. Not a bad conversation starter either. I'd be down for a shirt, maybe a strap.

Quite a while ago (even before the POTN web redesign), the statement was made that sale of goods, like the POTN wide camera strap, helped to underwrite the costs associated with servers, etc. making voluntary contributions no longer necessary. Prior to that statement, I had added a link to contribution link to my own signature, and carried that over into the redesigned look POTN web signature. I have no idea how well or how poorly the sales of goods cover current costs, however, but presume that if Pekka's resources were stretched too thin he would make an appeal to membership..but I keep my signature link to contributions nonetheless, and am prepared to make it a boldface text appeal in my signature if necessary.

You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

OK. well let me re-phrase... I WANT POTN SWAG! :p
Other forums have swag. I do marketing and online sales for a diesel company and I have a banner from a diesel forum hanging in my office.
Pekka can do what he wants with the extra profits. Add more to the forum, go on vacation, fly to different countries and have POTN parties with forum members. It would just be fun to have some swag. Add a tab for POTN swag! woohoo! :-P:lol: :p

maybe a strap.

I don't use straps but I'd prly buy one just for the POTN on it and use it on my travel camera.

Maybe I was referring to the kind of straps you smack people with.

Maybe Pekka could even donate the extra funds to a charity...or start our own!

"The POTN Center For Kids Who Can't Photograph Good And Want to Learn to Do Other Things Good Too"

Seriously though, charity wouldn't be a bad option with extra funds.
