So I bought a used Tamron 70-200 2.8vc and tested it when I bought and everything seemed great. ive been using the lens for about 3 days now and it's starting to make this high pitch squeak when using autofocus. Am I screwed?

My tamron 70-300 vc lens squeeks on focusing occasionally,it seems to have stopped doing it recently as I've been using it more,I put it down to lack of use as it had been in the bag for a while, time will tell.

Mine is almost silent. And it is over a year old, if it matters.

depending on where you live, you should get it looked at a local shop. There's a local guy that charges very little to evaluate a lens, and fair prices for repairs.

Well i jut called Tamron and they said its a grey market lens. The lens works flawlessly, focuses fast and sharp and VC works great. It just make this faint squeak going from close up to infinity.
