Pelican or similar preferably. I have 2 bodies, 2 flashes, batteries, and 5 lenses ranging from 50 mm to 70-300. I have outgrown my canon backpack. Any recommendations?

Look at the offerings from Pelican at the Pelican website. Check on-line reviews at places like B&H and Adorama. Look at videos of specific cases on YouTube. How can you pack it? How can you reconfigure it? What can it hold? What abuse can it withstand? Think about where you're going to use it and how you're going to use it. Then look at potential offerings from other companies. As good as Pelican is, that doesn't mean it will work for you.

I purchased a Pelican 1514 about 6 months ago to support a specific situation. I also considered how I'd use it in future situations. The 1514 is actually a 1510 but with dividers. I bought the desert tan since at that time it was the lowest price (vs the other models in black and olive), but is now in the middle, pricewise. It's tough and heavy, and does what I need a case to do. (At 155lb (70Kg), I can stand on the case without harming it.) Will it work for you? Only you can decide that. Will it grow with you? Do you need something bigger, or will this be something you'll simply duplicate in the future, where you get a couple of them to carry everything you need?

Without knowing specifics of your gear, the Canon backpack you have, or how you would even use a hard case, I have only a general idea of your needs. I hope this info can get you started. Good luck!

I have pretty much the same gear you list plus triggers and other miscellaneous items. Got a Pelican 1564 (has dividers) and added the lid organizer. Holds everything. It's not airline carry on, if that's an issue for you.
Definitely a tough box. Big plus is it's water tight, since I do a lot of shooting on my boat.

I can get the 1620 with foam for 139.99 or the 1650 with foam for 149.99. Now I'm torn between the two.

The 1514 is on sale on Amazon for $119 today. Deal of the Day. That's a great price. I'm thinking about picking one up.

I think I'm going to go 1620. That will give me room to grow. I looked at the 1514 but with reflectors and lots of accessories I believe I will be wishing I went with a larger size later.

the 1620 seems almost too deep to me? I am looking at the deals right now was originally going with the 1510 last night but waited now 1650 is the same price with the deal.

any other reason to go with 1620 over 1650? I don't see myself needing a foot of interior depth for huge lenses or anything.

My exact dilemma right now. I have both the 1650 and 1620 in my cart and reading reviews of both.

Not yet. I believe I will have enough room to store the accessories that I have without having to buy the lid organizer. If I see that I don't have enough room I'll order it next week.
